Gradients in a line and in a circle

Gradients in a line and in a circle painted into boxes the page cuts out: a two-colour blend across and another on the diagonal, a circular one whose outer colour is carried out to the corners, and one passing through three colours.

This one is not a program. It is the request the document server is sent: the same page, asked for over the network by an application that writes no PDF code at all.

The library cuts each panel out of the page and paints the gradient through the hole; the request fills a rectangle with the gradient as the colour it is filled with. The ink lands on the same dots either way. The library also writes each label at a stated height, where a request gives a block of words a rectangle instead, so every label's rectangle here is worked back from that height and is far wider than the words in it need.
