write_pdfa1a.json
The JSON file of the “A Tagged PDF/A-1a Deed of Deposit” example. The first part of the archival standard at its highest level: the page also says which line is the heading, which blocks are paragraphs and what is mere decoration.
This file is a request: an application sends it over the network to the server, which creates the PDF and sends it back. It creates the same page as the Rust and Python versions of this example. A request names every file it uses, never its content; the call carries the request and the files together. A font the server already holds, such as DejaVuSans, is named with nothing attached. Send the request to the address the API page gives.
What This Example Is For
A deed kept for thirty years will be read by people nobody has met yet, some of them through software that reads the page aloud. A page that only looks right gives that software nothing to go on: it reads the ink in the order it was laid down, page number and decoration included.
What This Example Shows
- A deed of deposit, held for thirty years, on PDF 1.4.
- The heading and the paragraphs named as such, in the order they are meant to be read.
- The rule and the page number at the foot marked as decoration, so nothing reads them aloud.
